About Arunachal Pradesh Marketing Board

The Board has its genesis Arunachal Pradesh Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1989, as a regulatory body for marketing of agricultural produce in the State. Thus, Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board (APAMB) was constituted to comply with the provisions of Arunachal Pradesh Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1989 and with a mandate to foster agriculture marketing in Arunachal Pradesh.

The Board has undergone significant changes to keep up with the global trend with enactment of new marketing legislation called "The Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Produce and Livestock Marketing (Promotion & Facilitation) Act, 2017".

The Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Marketing Board (APAMB), established in 1996 under the Arunachal Pradesh Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1989, serves as the apex regulatory body for agricultural produce marketing in the state. Through its district-level Agriculture Produce Marketing Committees (APMCs), it facilitates marketing activities, including regulated markets, co-operative marketing, and supporting infrastructure like cold storage. Adapting to changing global trends, APAMB has embraced urbanisation, increased linkages with markets, and undertaken initiatives like road construction and forming producer organisations. Recently, the Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Produce and Livestock Marketing (Promotion & Facilitation) Act, 2017 was enacted to address modern challenges and promote agriculture and allied sectors.
